How Far

A good question is why you would want to even make your body swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles, and run 26.2 miles. A better question is if you can do that, what is next...

"A variety of double, triple, quadruple, quintuple, and deca (10x) full distance events are also held each year. In a deca full distance event, for example, a 38 km swim is followed by an 1800 km bike race and a 422 km run. Astrid Benöhr holds the women's world records over the triple, quadruple and quintuple full distances.

In 1998, a double deca triathlon (20x full distance) was held in Monterrey, Mexico. The winner, Vidmantas Urbonas of Lithuania, completed the race in 437 hrs 21 min 40 sec."

Lake Placid

While this blog will either be a year's worth of training or 7-10 days long and full of rejection, either way it is fun to dream big.

I don't know what my fascination with Lake Placid is, (I have 5 other races in the US to choose from) but the fact that this race is making it tough for me to even enter (and see who these other psychos are trying to take up all the spots) is making me want to enter and compete that much more.

This is the goal. 213 spots left.
