Trotting

Today I ran the 10k Turkey Trot. The race took me an hour. My last race took me 7 hours. And the race before that one took me 15 hours.

I like the Turkey Trot.

Old Friend

Yesterday I went for a run. I would say it was my first real run since the Ironman. I ran for about an hour and 15 minutes around a loop I ran many times while training for the biggest race of my life. It was fun to get back to running, I missed it.

I ran into an old friend along the way. I didn't stop, but we ran together.

Good to see you again Fatigue.

Glutton for Punishment

Oh it's sold out alright, but I got in before it did! Everyone loves a good sequel... and there is a new character - Jeffrey Bear got in as well. This will be my second Ironman and his first.

We ride together, we die together. Bad boys for life.

What's Next?

It seems the natural question everyone asks is, what's next? I have been asked that as much as any question about the Ironman. It has felt as if I have scaled a mountain, and I plan to go back to the top of that mountain again. I will forever cherish the memory of my first Ironman, the support I received, and how God made a tough race an easy one with a purpose.

I will continue to race and if you find something more formidable than the Ironman, I want to know about it. However, for now it is clear what I must do...

The Finish

I have finished my Ironman. I don't know what is next. This article describes my emotions completely and gives a name for my condition - the PIDS.

You can be sure of one thing, whatever video format the future brings that replaces DVDs, I will have my moment put on that too.

Piece of Iron

"He's not human. He is like a piece of iron!"

12 hours in and halfway through the marathon. After this photo was
taken Preston requested that I "scatter his ashes." hmm...

Support

It has been amazing to have the support I have had all along the way.

Thank you to everyone that has donated, worn a 3BROS shirt, and given me support on this adventure. I will have plenty of time to be thankful for it all tomorrow.

1 day until Ironman USA:

2010

It is the day before the race. Athletes have the option to sign up for
the 2010 lake placid ironman today and the line winds down out of the
high school gymnasium. I took this picture, but don't worry nobody is
holding my spot in line. Proof I have some brains left.
